Description

Subject Area: Chinese Studies

Through this course students gain an enhanced critical appreciation of recent translation theories and explore issues related to the role of translators in modern multi-cultural societies. The course facilitates acquisition of functionally-based translation skills and plan-based translation skills and helps students develop individualised strategies for cross-language and cross-cultural communication and helps them expand their capacities of multi-lingual communication. We also explore the possibilities and means by which translators/translation can generate change.
