Description

Subject Area: Media, Culture and Technology

In this course, students use a wide variety of forms of publishing themselves (from text to video to images to data) to explore the practical, historical, contemporary and theoretical dimensions of publishing. “Publishing” here will be defined as the process of deliberately making, distributing and exhibiting media forms that are available to a wider community. Publishing will also be understood as a key element not only in the production and distribution of knowledge but also in the forms that knowledge takes. Modes of publishing are also deeply involved in the formations and possibilities of cultural and everyday life.
Students have opportunities to work individually and/or collectively in order to publish using a wide variety of media technologies and approaches.
