Description

Subject Area: English

This course will focus on major thematic and generic developments in English drama from the 1590s to the 1630s, taking account of changes in cultural, social and political attitudes as well as theatrical conditions. While Shakespearean texts will be given appropriate attention, they will be studied alongside landmark plays by some of Shakespeare’s more important contemporaries.
