Description

This course will introduce students to designing costume for theatre and film. Through practical assessment projects students will learn how design elements of shape and form are used to convey concepts in relationship to the body. Choice of materials and textures are also considered. Costume design drawing skills will be taught using a variety of media. Students will explore the history of costume design in theatre and film through lectures, current exhibitions as well as viewing contemporary productions. No sewing or pattern making skills are required for this course.
