Description

Techniques in scientific thinking and experimentation: seeing similarities, using diverse knowledge and techniques, having good ideas. Estimation in theory and experiment. The subject will mainly be taught in small groups organised to solve experimental and theoretical problems, some of them quite difficult. The problems may have fundamental as well as applied character, but the emphasis of the course is on universal principles, including conservation, symmetries, scaling and dimensional analysis.
