Description This subject continues on from the learning in INTA2171, applying the knowledge from this course into the study of architectural drafting and construction. The principles of sustainability and design are also explored in more detail. Architectural Drafting: will be taught with emphasis upon the craft and discipline aspects of the practice in Interior Architecture. There will be an introduction to the Australian Standards dealing with the architectural drafting and drawing conventions. Consideration will be given to sketching, measuring and documenting buildings and students will apply this knowledge to a set of documentation drawings. Ecological Sustainable Design : Introduction to the ecological and social issues facing society today with a particular focus on their relationship to the built environment. Particular focus on concepts of social responsibility, environmental accountability and ecological sustainability and their implications for the urban/built and natural environments. The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of materials, their use in the built environment as well as national and international case studies and their relationship to ESD will be examined.
