Description

In this course the basics of solution chemistry are introduced. Apart from simple solutions, such as electrolyte solutions, we also consider hydrophobic solvation and colloidal dispersions. Aspects of surface chemistry and colloidal stabilisation are investigated. Chemical equilibria, including acid-base equilibrium, as well as the fundamentals of chemical kinetics are studied. An introduction to the chemistry of concrete and polymeric materials is also given.
