Description

The physical properties of sound and the principles of Engineering Noise Control will be introduced, including the following topics.
Sound: sound pressure level, physiological responses to sound, threshold of hearing and threshold of pain, maximum permissible levels of sound exposure. The acoustic wave equation and some characteristics of sound. Sound sources. Principles of noise control. Computational methods for acoustics. Introduction to active noise control.
