Description


Introduces students to the fundamental concepts, general principles and methods that underlie learner-centred approaches to planning, design, and evaluation of ICT-supported teaching and learning. Students learn to evaluate educational software applications and web-based tools, and how to use technology as a means of promoting deep understanding of content, integrate technology into teaching, and where to look for assistance in expanding their e-learning planning and design skills.

Learning Outcomes


At the completion of this course, students should be able to:
  • Describe basic concepts and procedures related to educational technology
  • Identify and locate available technology resources
  • Discuss multiple ways of using technology for supporting learner-centred teaching strategies
  • Use basic knowledge of human learning processes to analyse educational suitability of software and web-based resources.
