Description

This course is the last in a carefully sequenced and graded series involving a range of styles. Students will be expected to display a high level of technical mastery over their bodies.

Learning Outcomes

Students who successfully complete this course should be able to:
  • Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and skill in dance technique applied to a 'work'
  • Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and skill in performance quality applied to a 'work'
  • Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and skill in describing and analysing choreographic and teaching practices in dance 'performance'.

Assessment

  • Demonstrate dance technique - Ballet - 10%
  • Demonstrate dance technique - Modern -15%
  • Demonstrate performance quality - Ballet - 10%
  • Demonstrate performance quality - Modern -15%
  • Logbook and 1500 word summary (includes participation and skill acquisition for Contact Improvisation. Includes participation for 'Mixed Bag'): Weighting - Ballet: 10% - Modern: 15% - Contact: 15% - 'Mixed Bag': 10%
