Description

Studies the basic principles of anatomy as a foundation for the understanding of human movement and function.

Learning Outcomes

Students who complete this course successfully should be able to:
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of anatomical terminology and identify all segments of the skeleton
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of joint classification, structure and function as well as the actions of muscles and their relevance to dance movement
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the importance of the nervous system, the circulation and respiration to the performing dancer
  • Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and skill in movement analysis from an anatomical base.
