Description

A systematic introduction to traditional and contemporary Chinese musical culture. Students learn contemporary theories in ethnomusicology, anthropology and cultural studies and their application in the study of musical culture. Study materials include relevant academic writings, multimedia sources, and live performance.

Assessment

  • Participation and discussion - 20%
  • Three writing tests - 60%
