Description

Basic plant biology including cell structure, plant morphology and anatomy, water and sugar transport, seed structure and germination, plant growth and development, leaves and photosynthesis, roots, micro-organisms and nutrition, evolution of land plants and plant taxonomy. A strong emphasis is placed on Australian native flora. Practical work includes light microscopy; plant anatomy and identification.
