Description This course will survey international law, focusing on world order issues of legal and political importance. The major principles and concepts of international law will be surveyed as well as the functions and processes of international legal rules. The course will address specific legal problems found in world politics such as human rights, war, terrorism, environmental regulation and economic development. Particular attention will be given to the structure and processes of international and regional organisations, most especially the role, function and utility of the United Nations.
