Description

Two hours audio/visual comprehension and two hours of grammar/reading/written expression, plus one hour of cultural studies.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

Speak, write, listen to, and read in Spanish
Become engaged with topics important in the Hispanic world
Investigate and report on topics currently discussed in the Hispanic world
Think critically about the role of the Hispanic world in global politics
Appreciate the cultural production of the Hispanic world
Appreciate the cultural and linguistic legacy of the Spanish empire
Gain a better understanding of oneself and one's environment by examining the Hispanic world.

Assessment

Three in-class compositions - 20%
Two oral presentations - 15%
Three exams - 40%
Twelve Tarea (Completed and submitted online) - 25%
