Description An introductory course in the study of tourism. The origins and evolution of contemporary tourism will be carefully examined and students will be familiarized with the various supply and demand components of the tourism industry through the examination of competing tourism models. Topics to be covered include the historical, economic, social, cultural, psychological and marketing aspects of human travel and the tourism industry globally, with a special focus on the impacts of tourism and the nature and industrial structure of tourism in and to Australia.
