Description This course highlights both mechanical and non-mechanical approaches to the construction of three-dimensional objects in clay and associated considerations of form, purpose, permanence, scale and site. Studio projects require that students gain competency in the use and manipulation of ceramic materials, while encouraging an innovative, experimental approach in their deployment and an imaginative interpretation of the significant ideas, conventions and precedents of the discipline.
