Description

Waves and physical optics: oscillations, wave motion, sound waves, light, interference, diffraction, gratings and spectra, polarization. Introductory quantum theory and the wave nature of matter. Solid state and semiconductor physics: simple energy band picture, semiconductor crystals and electrical conduction, semiconductor energy bands and applications.
While the same content is covered as Physics 1B, Higher Physics 1B features more advanced assessment, including separate tutorial and laboratory groups.
