Description Objectives:To build on OPTM2102 in equipping the student to be professional in manner with good communication and technical skills and able to carry out a logically sequenced primary care evaluation of the health of the ocular and visual system, refractive status and binocular coordination with a view to prescribing spectacles for the uncomplicated patient.
Brief Curriculum: Interviewing skills. Ocular health: biomicroscopy, tonometry, ophthalmoscopy. Ametropia: objective and subjective refraction. Binocular vision: sensory and motor aspects of binocular vision, introduction to binocular vision anomalies, accommodation/convergence imbalances. |
