Description Objectives: Understanding of the anatomical, physiological and psychophysical fundamentals of visual perception, as they underlie the practice of modern clinical optometry.
Brief Curriculum: Review of classical ideas on the nature of visual perception: light, colour, space, time and classical psychophysics. Anatomy of the skull and orbit, brain, and retina. Structure and function of retinal photoreceptors. Retinal circuits. Eye movements and their control mechanisms. |
