Description

This course is about providing a detailed understanding of advanced surface mining systems and technology.

For each of the surface mining systems considered the course will develop an in-depth understanding and analysis of:

Mining processes and systems and their key drivers.
Core risk identification and mitigation.
Method infrastructure requirements.

At the end of this course, the students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of:

Advanced surface mining systems and applications.
Selection and evaluation of appropriate mining systems depending on site specifics.
Assessment of core risks associated with each mining system.
