Description

Fourteen days of internship placement in a Japanese or Japan-related government, other public, or commercial organisation. Students will use their skills and knowledge in Japan-specific professional communication tasks and enhance their Japan literacy and professionally relevant proficiency. They will also gain practical knowledge of Japanese work organisation and management styles.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students should:
  • Have accumulated knowledge of Japan-related workforce in terms of its organisation and management styles
  • Be able to identify Japan-specific professional communication styles
  • Have enhanced Japanese literacy and professionally relevant proficiency
  • Be able to critically observe the workforce structure and function between Japanese companies/organisations and compare them with Australian workforce.

  • Profile of the organisation - 10%
  • Reading summary - 25%
  • Reflective journal - 40%
  • Final report - 25%
