Description The production of inorganic industrial chemicals from the standpoint of the application of the basic principles of inorganic and physical chemistry (acid industries, alkali industries, industrial gases electric furnace products, superphosphates, aluminum and glass); a study of some sections of the organic industrial chemical industry cellulose, industrial alcohols, formaldehyde, phenol, urea, phenolic and urea resins, acetic acid, polymers based on ethylene and acetylene, elastomers.
A small research project designed to illustrate practical applications of the principles of Industrial Chemistry. Regression analysis. Statistical design of experiments. Two level factorial designs. Screening experiments. Optimisation of process variables. Spread sheet and database utilisation. Basic programming. Industrial applications. |
