Description

Examines the transformation of the ancient world, dominated by the Roman state, into the post-classical world (235-565 CE). Examines the rise and function of Christianity, the structural changes in Roman government as well as its function, and the transition of classical culture. Explores also the formation of the early medieval and the early Byzantine states.
