Description

An advanced seminar on selected topics on the literature, culture, history, language and society of the German-speaking countries. Particular emphasis will be placed on research methodology and critical writing.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course, students should be able to:
  • Understand complex literary and academic texts in German
  • Analyse and critically discuss literary and academic texts in German
  • Develop skills in research methodology and critical writing.

Assessment

  • Essay (2000-3000 words) - 50%
  • Tutorial presentation/s - 40%
  • Participation - 10%
