Description

Further concentrates on aspects of advanced German grammar and/or techniques of translation. Includes 1 hour per week discussion of German literary texts or individual project.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course, students should be able to:
  • Understand spoken German in a variety of academic situations
  • Deal productively with a variety of German language media
  • Recognise intercultural differences and/or similarities in German texts
  • Participate actively in conversations in accurate standard German
  • Construct German texts using appropriate idiomatic structures.

  • Written assignments - 40%
  • Tutorial presentation - 30%
  • Participation - 10%
  • Class test - 20%
