|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Description The object of CVEN2501 is to introduce students to the practice of water engineering. Topics discussed include properties of fluids, manometry, hydrostatics, the principles of mass conservation, energy conservation, the forces and momentum in flowing fluids, flow in pipes, boundary layers, dimensional analysis, physical models, flow in open channels inclusive of specific energy, Manning and Chezy equations, uniform flow, subcritical and supercritical flow, hydraulic jumps, and gradually varied flow profiles.
