Description Applications of community biology, population ecology and genetics to management of environmental problems in nature and artificial ecosystems, including Australian examples. Nature and importance of global diversity, management and design of programs for the conservation of species and ecosystems, including reserves, off-site conservation, and computer simulations. Field excursions are compulsory and will involve expense to individual students. Current conservation issues will be addressed in small group projects.
