Description

This course explores in detail some of the major themes of biological anthropology introduced in Level 2 and 3. Topics may include: primate evolution, ecology or conservation, human and chimpanzee genome comparisons, earliest hominins, defining the human genus, the origins of modern humans, evolution of human culture, hominin ecology and lifestyle, and recent migrations and settlement of Australia and the New World. Students will gain skills in scientific writing and research by undertaking a minor original research project. This course should be taken by students planning to enrol in honours in biological anthropology.
