Description

Kinematics and kinetics of particles and rigid bodies; moments of inertia; equations of motion; work, energy, impulse and momentum. Virtual work for static and dynamic systems. Axis systems and motion relative to translating and rotating systems. Introduction to the atmospheric and space environment. Aircraft performance in terms of thrust and power. Minimum and maximum speeds, range and endurance. Rates of climb and energy height methods. Mission profiles; accelerated and non-accelerated flight; take-off and landing. Static and dynamic stability of atmospheric and exo-atmospheric vehicles. Controllability.
This course involves the flight simulator laboratory and airborne flight experiment course.
