Description The study of surface processes and landforms; especially those formed by river systems and coastal environments. The nature of surface deposits, sediments and soils and the interrelationships with landforms in different environmental settings. An emphasis on contemporary processes and factors of landform creation, as well as changes to landforms and surface deposits over time and in response to human modification of the landscape. Field and laboratory based work will provide practical experience in physical landscape evaluation and land management techniques.
Note/s: Students will incur personal costs associated with a three day field trip to the Kiama/Robertson district on the South Coast. Details will be provided during the first week of the course. |
