Description Following on from CVEN1021, this course introduces student to engineering and its place in society an demonstrates how the various engineering sub-disciplines are integrated in real-world civil engineering projects. The objective is to develop the students' skills in critical thinking, communication, teamwork and research. Topics include: communication methods and skills; oral and written presentations; the conduct of meetings; problem solving; recycling; public participation, including the role of sustainability and the influence of engineering practice, the engineer and the law.
