Description
This course provides students with an understanding of the structure and function of metal complexes, with a particular emphasis on recent developments and applications of these complexes in industry and research. The course has four major components: (a) Metal complexes -fundamental theory, strucure, spectroscopy and magnetism (b) Mechanisms in inorganic reactions, (c) An introduction to organometallic chemistry and catalysis and (d) Bioinorganic chemistry - the reaction chemistry of metalloenzymes.
