Overview

Head of School: Associate Professor Peter Murmann
Administrative Officer: Avis Wong

The School of Strategy and Entrepreneurship is a diverse group of internationally-trained faculty with research and teaching interests in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship. Strategic Management covers strategy formulation, competitive positioning, industry analysis, strategic decision-making, corporate merger and acquisition, deal negotiation, innovation, strategy implementation and international strategy. Entrepreneurship involves all the steps that are required from taking a business idea to successful commercialisation.

To prepare students for the role of general manager and entrepreneur, the school’s courses also cover leadership, strategic change, policy analysis and politics, ethics, and the philosophy of management.

Undergraduate Programs

In Semester 2, 2008 a General Education subject for undergraduate students will be offered - STRE 2010: Innovation and Entrepreneurship – Principles and Practice

Postgraduate Programs

The School of Strategy and Entrepreneurship presently offers courses through AGSM MBA Programs and AGSM Executive Programs.

The Graduate Certificate in Research Management and Commercialisation is also coordinated and managed by Strategy and Entrepreneurship. The program is designed primarily for currently enrolled PhD students as well as graduates from all disciplines who lack relevant training in research management and commercialisation in their current professional careers. It is particularly relevant to PhD students conducting or planning to conduct research which may have some commercial application or to those who wish to pursue careers in industry where commercialisation of research is important.
