Overview

The School of Banking and Finance was established in 1988. It is the largest School of its kind in Australia with about 39 staff who specialise in various fields of finance. The School maintains close ties with industry, both in Australia and internationally and aims to cultivate an enthusiastic and exciting research and teaching culture.

A diverse range of courses in banking and finance is offered, covering the areas of banking, corporate finance, investment management, international finance, risk management and insurance, and financial analysis.

Course instruction at UNSW reflects an important mix of theory and practice. Members of the School conduct research over a wide range of topics. The School is a major participant in the Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre (CMCRC) and the Securities Industry Research Centre of Asia (SIRCA).
