International Business
 International Business

Description

International Business is a rapidly growing field of study dealing with the development, strategy, and management of multi-national enterprises in the global context of complex and dynamic business environments.

Besides the study of multi-national enterprises, the field necessarily includes business context studies and culture and communications, including language studies. Business is becoming increasingly international and the most effective business leaders and professionals of the future will be those who know how to deal with the problems of doing business and managing organisations in a complex and uncertain global business environment.

The study of International Business is through the School of Organisation and Management, which has relevant research strengths in International Business, Management and Employment Relations in Asia, encompassing the following topics:
  • employer associations in South Korea and China
  • human rights
  • business ethics, corruption, trust,
  • international business networks and alliances
  • international business strategy
  • international human resource management
  • foreign investment in the Asia-Pacific region
  • international and comparative employment relations and management
  • virtual enterprises, outsourcing and supply chain management
  • globalisation strategies of large firms in Asia
