Stream Outline
- A good and thorough knowledge of advanced finance and the mathematics of modern finance. This knowledge is necessary to understand and appraise publications in high quality finance journals as well as working papers, and it forms the base on which the thesis is built through the use of mathematical modelling techniques.
- A solid understanding of: (i) the breadth and depth of econometric and statistical analyses; and (ii) the structure of financial institutions and markets
- A diverse and comprehensive knowledge of major areas of banking, finance, insurance and risk management.
- The capacity for analytical and critical thinking. Students must display originality in approaching research questions and issues.
- Excellent written and oral skills.
