This interdisciplinary research program allows students from the sciences, social sciences and the humanities to undertake a Masters by Research in Environmental Policy and Management. The program is coordinated through the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and run in conjunction with the Institute of Environmental Studies, the Faculty of Science and the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.
Students will have the opportunity to undertake a thesis topic in conjunction with the Institute's partner agencies involved in policy development and management in relation to the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. The Masters program requires students to take a one semester course in Natural Resource Policy and Management (ARTS5029) and, depending on prior knowledge, two other elective courses selected in consultation with the Program Coordinator from environmental masters course options across a range of Schools and Faculties. In addition, students are required to complete a 30,000 word thesis on an approved topic.
