Plan Outline

This plan is for a Master of Philosophy in Information Systems and Management.

After completing qualifying courses and/or concurrent prescriptions, research students undertake original research and prepare a research thesis. This must meet high academic standards and be of publishable quality. The thesis will not normally exceed 40,000 words.

Plan Structure

All MPhil in Information Systems, Management and Technology students shall study four research methods course which will be specified by the School. As an example, students may study the following courses

INFS5981 Research Methods (6 UOC)
INFS5986 Research Topics in Info Sys 1 (6 UOC)
INFS5987 Research Topics in Info Sys 2 (6 UOC)
STRE8005 Intellectual Foundations (6 UOC)

In addition to completing the above courses, students shall enrol into one of the following:

INFS5994 F/T Masters Thesis Info Sys (24 UOC)
INFS6001 P/T Masters Thesis Info Sys (12 UOC)

and submit a thesis on an approved topic. Normally the thesis should not exceed 40,000 words.
