Description Provides a grounding for postgraduate students in a wide range of approaches to research in the humanities, with a focus on the discipline of political science. Supports students in the preparation of their first substantive piece of written work for the degree - a comprehensive thesis proposal - but relevant for any humanities student in the early stages of thesis writing. Topics include the selection and framing of a research question; making an original contribution; writing a research proposal; and discussion of a range of epistemological, methodological and theoretical approaches to research in the discipline.
