Program Description
Please note that the Graduate Certificate is not available to International students as it can only be undertaken on a part-time basis.
Program Objectives and Graduate Attributes
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the construction project management body of knowledge, including established theories and recent developments relevant to the discipline or professional field.
- Apply construction project management principles and practices to new or complex environments.
- Investigate, generate, synthesise and evaluate complex ideas and concepts at an abstract and/or applied level.
- Critically evaluate contemporary debates and literatures in construction project management.
- Analyse problems or issues, articulate appropriate solutions and justify propositions and/or professional decisions.
- Communicate complex ideas in a variety of formats to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrate a high level of personal autonomy and accountability in the acquisition or application of knowledge or skills.
- Demonstrate and understanding of, and the ability to apply, the principles of teamwork and collaboration.
Program Structure
A recognised Bachelors degree in construction industry related disciplines with grades of credit average or above plus at least 1 year of work experience in the construction industry at a management level OR
A recognised college or university diploma in the construction industry related disciplines with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in the construction industry at a management level OR
A recognised and relevant professional qualification such as membership of AIB (Australian Institute of Building), RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) or Master Builders Association plus 5 years of work experience in the construction industry at a management level OR
A recognised Bachelors degree or college or university diploma not related to activities of the construction industry plus a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the construction industry at a management level.
