The Master of Finance is designed for graduates who have completed a finance major in their undergraduate program and who are looking to develop their finance skills by studying more advanced finance topics. There are five streams:
The Master of Finance program is taught on-campus. The typical duration is one year of full-time study and 2-4 years part-time.
Entry to this program requires a Bachelor degree with a major in finance from a recognised institution (or overseas qualifications deemed equivalent) with a credit average overall, and with a credit average in the finance undergraduate major or equivalent. Candidates must also have demonstrated competence in mathematical and statistical methods. Program Objectives and Learning Outcomes
The Master of Finance consists of 8 courses (4 core courses and 4 elective courses) and is offered in five streams. Each stream has four core courses and a range of electives. A work-based research project may be undertaken as an elective, subject to approval by the Head of School, Banking & Finance.
The courses studied will depend on the chosen stream, please refer to the available specialisations for further information. Interested candidates without an appropriate background may wish to consider undertaking the Master of Commerce (specialising in one of Finance, Funds Management, International Finance or Banking) as an alternative program.
