The Graduate Certificate in Computing is designed for students with no prior computing background, or those who are not eligible for direct entry to the Graduate Diploma in Information Technology program.
Program Objectives and Learning Outcomes The aim of this program is to provide students with a broad-based IT education, and more specialised knowledge in up to two areas, enabling them to work in a range of positions in the IT industry.
It is similar in scope to CSE's undergraduate BE (Computer Engineering) program, while still allowing for a variable mix between breadth and depth amongst sub-fields. Students are required to complete 4 courses of postgraduate level from COMP and BINF
Entry Requirements At least a three year undergraduate degree equivalent to a standard Australian bachelor degree in science or engineering; OR
Up to five years work experience in the area of science or engineering. Completion Options After successful completion of four courses students have two options:
Articulation
Students can apply to articulate from the Graduate Certificate in Computing program to the Graduate Diploma program (5543) provided they have failed no courses. Full credit may be granted. Students should pay careful attention when selecting their courses to ensure that they align with the program for the major of their preference. Students are advised to consult:
