This Graduate Diploma program provides graduates with opportunities to extend their professional knowledge. Candidates may undertake interdisciplinary studies and, subject to approval, are able to take courses from any school in the Engineering Faculty, other Faculties of the University and other universities or institutions. Consequently, study programs best suited to the individual needs of candidates may be selected.

Period of candidature: The minimum period is 2 academic sessions (full-time) or 4 academic sessions (part-time) from the date of enrolment. The maximum period of candidature is 4 academic sessions (full-time) and 8 academic sessions (part-time). In special cases an extension of time may be granted.

Candidates must complete 36 units of credit in graduate courses, 24 of which must be selected from BIOM9xxx offerings (please see session options under the Biomedical Engineering - 8660 program listing in this handbook). Note that the BIOM9914 12 unit of credit project report (Master Thesis) is not a valid option in this program and that no undergraduate courses are allowed.

Before enrolment applicants should submit an intended program plan to the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering for approval.

Candidates with partial completion may be considered for upgrading to a Masters program with advanced standing, or they can apply to enter a Masters program at the end of their Diploma studies. Further enquiries should be made with the School.
