Program Description

The Graduate Certificate program is a four course program designed for people who want to update their business skills within a specialised area and who need flexible study arrangements to better fit with their careers. The Graduate Certificate in Commerce can be tailor-made to suit an individual's needs. Courses are chosen from the Master of Commerce offerings.

The Graduate Certificate in Commerce also provides students with an opportunity to move into the Master of Commerce degree on completion of the program.

Program Objectives and Learning Outcomes

  1. To provide a perspective on commerce as a social phenomenon.
  2. To provide opportunities for the design of study programs that meet vocational needs or individual interests.
  3. To recognise accomplishments in commerce related studies.

Program Structure

Graduate Certificate in Commerce
The four courses required for the Graduate Certificate in Commerce can be selected from the Master of Commerce offerings, subject to prerequisites.

Academic Rules

Requirements
  1. A student must complete four courses (24 units of credit) for the Graduate Certificate.
  2. The four courses are drawn from postgraduate courses offered by the Faculty of Commerce and Economics.
  3. Students are required to satisfy course prerequisites in their program of studies and may be excluded from taking courses which would duplicate prior studies. Guidance will be provided in these matters to individual students.
  4. No exemptions are permitted in the Graduate Certificate in Commerce
