Stream Outline
The Health Promotion stream is highly recommended as a foundation for all areas of public health, as contemporary practice across all disciplines requires consideration of the social determinants, incorporation of health in all policies, with attention to meeting the equity gaps and promoting social justice. This stream explores determinants–based health promotion that moves practice beyond risk factors and disease models. It focuses on social understandings of health and a multi-sectoral approach to promoting health through research, practice, policy and advocacy.
The Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Promotion is designed for students who wish to specialise in health promotion, which is reflected in their Testamur.
