Stream Outline

The Graduate Certificate in Arts (Interpreting) offers the students training in a variety of interpreting modes and fields required by the global industry to work competently in the market. Steeped in translation and interpreting theory, the program offers a suite of practical interpreting courses, including community (public service) interpreting and conference interpreting. Courses are offered in English and the following languages: Chinese (Mandarin), French, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish.

Stream Structure

Students are required to complete four courses (24 units of credit).

Admission Requirements

The program is intended for students who have a BA or equivalent with a major in a language and who have native or near-native bilingual proficiency. Students who have successfully completed the requirements for the Graduate Certificate may apply to upgrade to the Master of Arts in Interpreting and Translation Studies.
