Stream Outline

This specialisation will provide you with a solid education in relevant core and specialised areas of knowledge and practice. You will develop a core set of high-level skills and have scope to satisfy the first two levels of CIMA's syllabus covering 6 examination papers (Enterprise Operations E1, Performance Operations P1, Financial Operations F1, Enterprise Management E2, Performance Management P2, and Financial Management F2).

Career opportunities are in accounting and financial management in the private and public sectors; working for organisations or government departments. Career progression after the appropriate experience would be: Management Accountant, Finance Manager, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Financial Director, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or Management Consultant.

This specialisation is for business and non-business graduates who wish to pursue a career in the exciting area of management accounting and be professionally recognised by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). If you have prior business studies, you will be able to substitute courses relevant to the CIMA syllabus for courses covered in your prior undergraduate studies. This will allow you to enrich your relevant knowledge and, possibly, reach a higher level of CIMA recognition. In particular, if you have an undergraduate accounting major, you should be able to cover all the CIMA levels other than the final level requiring work-based practical experience and a case study examination.
