Stream Outline
This MCom (Extension) sub-specialisation allows for breadth of choice, providing students the ability to choose four courses from across the MCom specialisations and MCom (Extension) sub-specialisation courses or to choose up to 2 courses from other faculties. This General sub-specialisation is suitable for students who wish to select courses from a range of options to pursue their career objectives.
Stream Structure
Master of Commerce (Extension) (MCom (Ext)) students must complete:
- 2 MCom core courses
- 3 Gateway courses - made up of designated specialist core course/s depending on the specialisation chosen
- 6 Specialisation courses
- 4 Sub-specialisation courses
- 1 Capstone course
Choose 4 courses from any approved MCom course selections:
- Four courses from any approved MCom or MCom (Extension) specialisations.
- (Pre-requisites may apply when reviewing course options)
- Two courses may be selected from other faculties of UNSW (subject to approval of MCom Director).
If you choose to study the Master of Commerce (Extension) program 8417, you have the option to choose 4 courses (to provide you with depth of learning) from the following Sub- specialisations:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Marketing
- Information Systems
- Management
- Business Law
- Taxation
- *General Option
* The General Option sub-specialisation allows you to choose two courses from the MCom and optional two courses outside of the MCom (other programs within ASB) or courses from other Faculties(with permission).
