Electives may be chosen from the elective courses offered in postgraduate programs form the School of Safety Science program (subject to any pre-requisites for these course being completed), or from other schools within the University, subject to the approval of both the relevant program authorities. The range of electives available off- campus mode is more restricted than for internal students. While such elective are of a coursework type, project courses of either 6 UoC SESC9906, or 12 UoC SESC9912 are also available.

Exemption but not necessarily advanced standing (transfer credit) may be awarded to students who can establish that they have equivalent knowledge in these course at an appropriate level. Where exemption is granted students will be required to substitute other approved postgraduate courses.
